Projects

Fund projects are dedicated to improving the lives of Uzbek people. Currently, the Fund is focused enhancing healthcare and education services for ordinary Uzbek citizens.

Two projects are being implemented:

1. Reducing Maternal and Infant Mortality: This project equips healthcare professionals with advanced skills and cutting-edge equipment, enabling life-saving interventions in perinatal centers across all provinces and districts in Uzbekistan.

2. Advancing Education Through ICT: This initiative introduces modern information and communication technology (ICT) to schools, training teachers to integrate it into lessons. The goal is to provide students with access to higher-quality, inclusive, and equitable education.

Anti-corruption measures are integrated into all programs and projects to ensure transparency and accountability.

Decisions about which projects to Fund is taken by the Fund Management Committee with advice from the independent Civil Society Advisory Council (CSAC).

Project implementation

Projects under the Ishonch Fund can be implemented by UN agencies or the World Bank. Joint programming is encouraged to leverage the unique strengths, expertise, and capacities of each organization, ensuring maximum impact and value for the people of Uzbekistan.

The Fund operates under strict budget and programming rules, which are enforced by the Fund Management Committee with support from the Fund Secretariat and the independent Civil Society Advisory Council (CSAC) to maximize efficiency in project implementation and fund utilization.

Members of the independent CSAC are equipped with ID badges and actively participate in official project monitoring. They also have the right to conduct independent monitoring. Additionally, the CSAC is invited to attend all Project Steering Committee and Project Assessment Committee meetings and acts as an observer in procurement processes, including bid openings and supplier selection.

The primary goal of the Fund is to implement projects transparently and efficiently, delivering measurable benefits to the people of Uzbekistan.

Project reporting

The Ishonch Fund is dedicated to transparent reporting on all its activities and results. As the Fund manages restituted funds from criminal activities, it is crucial to ensure that the Uzbek population and other stakeholders have full access to project documentation and implementation outcomes.
